PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by any contractor working in an industrial or manufacturing facility to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the contractor is regularly required to move into and around tooling, fixtures, and equipment and climb ladders. The contractor must be able to lift at least 25lbs. as needed.

TRAVEL:

This job may require out-of-town and overnight travel. Travel may vary by distance or customer requirements. On-site support could range from one day or more, depending on the size of the project and customer requirements, or until all client issues have been resolved.

SCOPE OF WORK:

We are looking for a programmer/ operator for the Nakamura mill turn. It is a complicated machine used for all of our heavy R&D needs. We need an experienced operator for this machine.

PROJECT DURATION: +3 Months

ESTIMATED HOURS: 40hrs/wk.

SHIFT: 1st/Day

ROTATION: Every 4 Weeks

TRAVEL INFORMATION: Per diem and travel expenses covered.

This position is responsible for developing welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals, metal alloys, and general engineering principles.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve weld quality.
  • Reduce costs through continuous improvement activities.
  • Define recommended welding spare parts.
  • Develop and maintain weld parameter/setup sheets.
  • Support and lead new line launch verification projects.
  • Experience in welding processes that include: GMAW, GTAW, SAW, FCAW, DAW, RSW, PW, or LW.
  • Knowledge of mechanical joining processes include: SPR, FDS, or Clinch.
  • Developing training documentation in relationship to quality requirements of the customer.
  • Troubleshoot welding issues on production tooling.
  • Develop welding schedules.
  • Participate in design reviews for projects.
  • Interface with new equipment vendors and customers.
  • Develop and write work instructions as they pertain to different welding and inspection operations.
  • Prepare robots to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Improve cycle time and throughput.
  • Assist in the integration, start-up and debugging of equipment.
  • Provide support in the analysis and resolution of welding failures.
  • Recommend repair or repair procedures.
  • Provide on-going customer service.
  • Provide support to assembly operators and plant skill trades about welding processes.
  • Properly document changes and updates.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Weld Engineering Technology.
  • Self-motivated and hands on.
  • Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Shows a willingness to learn and grow their career.
  • Follow all safety protocols.
